The Maranti Trio will perform in an afternoon of house-concerts in ’s-Hertogenbosch; on the program will be Aanlanden, the piece which I wrote for them earlier this year, and selections from J.S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations. Presented by Stichting Vrienden Kamermuziek ’s-Hertogenbosch.

Vlierenhut will present a special program centered around my music. On the program: The Thelema Trio will premiere a new piece which I’ve written for them titled Somniloquy, and the Maranti Strijktrio will perform Aanlanden, a piece I wrote for them this past spring. Both Somniloquy and Aanlanden were composed in large part at Vlierenhut itself, where I have had the opportunity to work over the past year. The Thelema Trio will also perform my 2004 trio titled Groundings, arranged especially for them, and clarinetist Rik de Geyter will perform my 2008 solo clarinet work Zonnebloem. Oboist Laura Karney and I will perform Zosa, a piece I wrote for Laura in 2005. Each ensemble will also perform a piece from their own repertoire on the program. I am deeply grateful to Elisabeth van Alphen de Veer for inviting me to create this concert!

A program of new works for piano trio with the overarching theme of ‘water.’ Each newly-composed work is inspired by a photograph by one of a group of photographers. My work Groundings is the exception on the program; it already exists as a piece, and American photographer Jeanne Faget will create a new photograph based on my music.

The concert is conceived of and curated by Lynn Hutchinson. The proceeds from the concerts will support Charity: Water.
